Urban Forum: Spotlight on Seleta Reynolds, LADOT

March 20 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

| $40 members, $55 non members

The past six months on the job as LADOT’s General Manager have put Seleta Reynolds in the spotlight for her vision of transportation in Los Angeles. Fresh from San Francisco, her advocacy of livable streets that balance the need for mobility and the needs of businesses and residents for walkable neighborhoods has rejuvenated the dialogue on LA’s perennial traffic congestion, parking, pedestrian and cycling concerns. Her data-driven approach to transportation connects streetscape projects to positive impacts on the economic performance of adjacent businesses, and she enthusiastically supports great streets that encourage people to linger in public spaces. Come hear the new GM discuss everything from the ambitious My Figueroa complete streets project to LADOT’s new Strategic Plan to traffic safety and funding for LADOT.  Renowned UCLA Professor Brian Taylor, who is the Professor of the university’s Urban Planning Department and Director of the Institute of Transportation Studies and the Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies, will conduct a lively interview with LA’s czarina of traffic issues and solutions.
